If you are like any number of video game enthusiasts, you might have already purchased the Sony PSP to play your video games on the go. The PSP has proven to be extremely popular in the teenage crowd as well as younger adults. There are many reasons behind this, and one big one besides the gaming aspect of the PSP. The popularity of the PSP has risen because of its abilities to play videos.
With over four hundred movies currently available on UMD, Sony’s mini CDs they introduced with the PSP, you’ll want to get that popcorn started and settle in for movie night. So, how do you play movies on the PSP? If you will be using an UMD, follow these simple instructions:
• Get your PSP and UMD handy
• For UMD playing, open your PSP by sliding the latch
• Insert the UMD with label facing the back of the system
• Slide UMD down the tracks until it clicks into place
• Close PSP and enjoy!
If you will be transferring movies or videos from your computer, follow these instructions:
• Get your PSP, Memory Stick Duo, USB A to mini B cable ready
• Find your movie or video on your computer and format to MP4 file type, if it’s not already an MP4
• Locate the movie(s) on your computer, open the directory
• Attach your PSP to your computer using an empty USB port and the cable
• Insert Memory Stick Duo into PSP by opening the slot on the left side of the PSP, put in the memory stick completely then close the slot door
• Turn on power on the PSP
• In the Cross Media bar, select the Setting menu then select USB Connection
• Transfer the movie(s) to the MP_ROOT\100MNV01 directory on the memory stick either by dragging and dropping the movie from your hard drive or by copying/pasting the movie
• Find that popcorn and enjoy your movie!

Pacman
In 1980 a little known distributor by the name of Midway released a game destined to become one of the greatest arcade classics of all time. Developed by Namco, Pacman is a maze game in which a player navigates Pac-man, a yellow figure, through a maze eating pills and avoiding ghosts.
Pacman has undeniably had a significant impact on the video game industry. Until Pacman, video games were almost exclusively “Space Shooters” – games in which a player controls a space craft that has to shoot something. Pacman was the first game to break out of that model and be incredibly successful. Since then, video games have diversified considerably and continuously branch out into new and creative areas.
The name Pacman is derived from the Japanese phrase Pakupaku which loosely translates into “he eats, he eats”. In fact, the game was originally released under the name Puck Man in Japan, but when the game was picked up by Midway to be released in the US the name was changed to Pacman for fear of vandalism that could potentially be inflicted by Americans in arcades and will include scratching the P into an F in the Japanese name “Puck Man”.
The first known “perfect Pacman game”, in which a player must complete all 255 levels, collect all the bonuses and never be caught by a ghost, was played by Billy Mitchell at 1999. One of the most important parts in having a good time online is making sure that you are comfortable. This may seem like a no-brainer, but it is all too easy to forget to take a few basic precautions. If you really want to have a get time and set the new high score, then you should this.
The first thing you should take care of is your hands. Holding a mouse or hitting keys can cause a lot of persistent strain on your muscles. This is effectively what causes carpal tunnel syndrome as well, so you should definitely try and reduce the stress on your hands. If you are getting ready to play a shooter than you should position your hand for the least strain possible. For example, it is difficult to play arcade games for any length of time if your wrist is at a significant angle. You should keep your hand level with the mouse if possible. This can be done through several means. You can buy a nice mouse pad that has a wrist rest built in at the base, or you can just grab a standard paperback book and place it between you and the mouse. This is usually enough to keep your wrist relatively level with the mouse.
This is the first step to happy hands. You should now be able to play your favorite arcade games without getting sore. There are a few other ways to extend your flash game session though. You need to get in the habit of checking your grip. It is all too easy to get into the “DIE ALIENS DIE!!!!!” mode and forget that you are now apparently trying to strangle your mouse. It’s basic physics. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. If you are playing arcade games while trying to crush your mouse, the mouse will be exerting an equal force out onto your fingers. This can lead to some painful cramping and discomfort that will make you quit your game early.
It may seem like I’ve forgotten the keyboard arcade games, but I didn’t. The same basic rules apply to playing an arcade game with a keyboard. If you are racing are playing an online adventure game, then you’ll want to keep your wrists straight and your fingers relaxed. There are classes to teach perfect typing methods, but you don’t really need to type 70 words a minute to win an online race. Just keep your wrist out from your body and try not to rest them on anything. That really builds up stress while you’re playing.
All of these may seem to be a little nit picky, but you shouldn’t be quick to forget about them. Nothing is worse than your hand cramping up and costing you a win after you’ve spent 20 minutes getting to the last level. Just follow these basic tips and avoid 3 hour gaming sessions, and you should be fine. Now go get ‘em!

Roller Rush
If you like the game Diner Dash, then you will probably like Roller Rush. The game play is very similar yet the theme is quite different. Roller rush is based on the 50's theme of drive-in dining. You play as a girl in skates and you need to serve as many customers as you can in order to achieve the money goal for the day. Achieving your goal gives you stars. You can then use these stars to purchase different upgrades. You can choose to immediately use up your stars on upgrades or you can wait for them to accumulate in order to get better upgrades. You can also get bonus points by completing a roll - same task done in succession. The longer the roll, the more money you get.
Roller Rush is a game of skill and strategy as well as fast reflexes. The game starts out easy, with good time spacing between customers. The higher the level, however, the more customers you get and the faster they come. There are different types of customers – some more impatient that others. You tend to get the more impatient ones at the higher levels.
The overall theme of the game is a treat, especially if you are into retro. You have a jukebox that plays music in the background throughout the game. It uses a default playlist. However, you can tweak the game and have the jukebox play your own mp3s stored on your hard drive! Now you can play and listen to music at the same time.
The graphics are not spectacular but they suit the game very well. They are pleasing to the eyes and different animations make for a good gaming experience. As opposed to many other games out in the market, the content is kid friendly. You have to be a little bit older than a “kid” to be able to beat the game, though. For the not-so-skilled players, there comes a point in the game wherein you just cannot seem to handle all the customers and earn enough money in a day. It’s either you step up or lose all your lives.

The ultimate handheld multimedia machine is what I call Sony’s latest gaming console. It is the best thing Sony has ever come up with so far. You can do almost anything with it!
Officially marketed as a gaming console, there is much more to it than that. For one thing, you can download your favorite music files onto the memory stick and voila, you have a portable music player! It also makes use of a new storage device called the UMD. It looks like a CD but is much smaller. Aside from games, you can get music videos and movies. With its wide high resolution screen, you can now watch your favorite movies anywhere, anytime you want to. If you are a high tech bookworm like me, then you will love the PSP even more. You can download e-books from the internet and put them on the PSP as JPEG files and read the latest novels on the go! Do you want to carry precious memories around anywhere you go? Convert your pictures into digital format and transfer them onto the memory stick. Now you can have hundreds of pictures at your fingertips!
The relatively large screen size makes for easy viewing of almost any format you use. During game play, the details will just astound you. Watching a movie is like watching it on DVD. You can adjust the contrast so as to suit your viewing preferences.
The memory stick’s storage capacity might give you a bit of a headache, though. There are large capacity memory sticks available but many of them are a bit pricey. However, I would say that it’s worth it.
It would be a good idea to purchase the headphones that come as an accessory. The built-in speakers of the PSP can be a bit disappointing. They just don’t give you the best experience when playing a game, watching a movie, or listening to music. The headphones give a much better sound quality.
Another drawback is that there doesn’t seem to be enough good games for the console yet. Compared to other handheld gaming consoles, the Sony PSP lags behind when it comes to the release of new games. The UMD disks are quite expensive as well.
Then again, I am sure you will be able to find something to do with your PSP while waiting for the next game or movie to come out.

The good old days, when we all used to play games in a group are gone. In those days, the families used to have more than a single child and it was a joy to play games such as monopoly and others. The joy was in the games as well as the group interaction. Today with many families opting for a single child, free online games are a boon for that child and the parents.
Imagine parents worrying about their child- who will play with our child? Will he/she never play group games on board that we enjoyed so much in our childhood? Mobile Gaming Explained
If you're not familiar with mobile games, you will be soon because this is the next big area of growth expected in the billion dollar gaming market. A mobile game is a computer software game played on a mobile phone. Mobile games are usually downloaded via the mobile operator's network, but in some cases games are also loaded into the mobile handsets when purchased, or via infrared connection, Bluetooth or memory card. Mobile games are developed using technologies such as DoCoMo's DoJa, Sun's J2ME, Qualcomm's BREW (Binary Runtime for Wireless) or Infusio's ExEn (Execution Environment). Other platforms are also available, but not as common.
The different platforms
BREW is the more powerful technology, giving, as it does, complete control of the handset and complete access to its functionality. However this unchecked power could be dangerous, and for this reason BREW development process is tailored mainly towards recognised software vendors. While the BREW SDK (Software Development Kit) is freely available, running software on real mobile hardware (as opposed to the provided emulator) requires a digital signature which can only be generated with tools issued by a handful of parties, namely mobile content providers and Qualcomm themselves. Even then, the game will only work on test enabled devices. To be downloadable on regular phones the software must be checked, tested and given approval by Qualcomm via their TRUE BREW Testing programme.
Java (aka "J2ME" / "Java ME" / "Java 2 Micro Edition") runs atop a Virtual Machine (called the KVM) which allows reasonable, but not complete, access to the functionality of the underlying phone. This extra layer of software provides a solid barrier of protection which seeks to limit damage from erroneous or malicious software. It also allows Java software to move freely between different types of phone (and other mobile device) containing radically different electronic components, without modification. The price that is paid is a modest decrease in the potential speed of the game and the inability to utilise the entire functionality of a phone (as Java software can only do what this middle-man layer supports.)
Because of this extra security and compatibility, it is usually a quite simple process to write and distribute Java mobile applications, including games, to a wide range of phones. Usually all that is needed is a freely available Java Development Kit for creating Java software itself, the accompanying Java ME tools (known as the Java Wireless Toolkit) for packaging and testing mobile software, and space on a web server (web site) to host the resulting application once it is ready for public release.

Recent innovations in mobile games include Singleplayer, Multiplayer and 3D graphics. Virtual love games belong to both of singleplayer and multiplayer games. How The Games Of Today Give Us A Glimpse Of Future Gaming Technology
I think games in the future will be even more realistic then the games we already have with our Xbox 360s and Play Station 3s. Microsoft and Sony will more than likely come out with something even more insane like a virtual game or something and that would be the game of the century. To have a virtual game that you put on but still used an Xbox or Play Station and you played shooting games like you play online today. I think that would be the best game to come out ever.
If you just thought about what we have now and just think about we will have in the future you should be amazed because with graphics and games getting so much more finer in quality and look it going to be a good future.
Just like I said about the virtual game thing you could have that same idea but have just sunglasses to put on and you see everything through the lenses. That would be a lightweight piece to put on yet a whole big bang of game, if you just had that and an Xbox you would be set for playing online. That would be a whole new online experience for most gamers. I wouldn't think that anyone had ever seen anything like that before.
Also people are suggesting that they would like to be able to speak with characters from the game. The whole point of the game is to play not talk is what I think. I think if you want to talk you need to get online and play a game like Counterstrike or Day of Defeat or maybe get on Xbox live and do some Gears of War or Halo 3. That's the type of games that you should want to talk on or to. If you ever go online you will see people talking online a lot and that might motivate you to get involved. It's a lot better to want to talk to other people online then talk to a character in a game that is made to answer questions that you are going to ask unless it has a brain and can speak and think on its own. I don't think something like that would come out for at least another hundred years.

Despite the fact that the history of mass-market games consoles only really stretches back two decades or so, there have been dozens of consoles in this time, and all-out wars to capture the market. The quality of graphics has improved amazingly in this time – try looking at the original Mario next to a modern game like Grand Theft Auto or Halo – although it is a matter of some debate whether gameplay (the ‘fun factor’) has improved to match.
Probably the biggest thing in games consoles today is the shift towards online gaming, led by Microsoft’s Xbox Live service. Online gaming allows people to play against each other all over the world using nothing more than a TV, a console, an Internet connection, and occasionally a headset to shout insults at each other.
All that could be about to change, however, as Sony prepares to launch the Playstation 3, and Nintendo works on the Wii. The two consoles are set to fight it out over the next few years, with the PS3 taking the position of being very expensive with extremely good graphics, and the Wii being more basic and cheaper, but trying to put the focus back on fun. The Internet is buzzing with Wii supporters who remember the Nintendo games of their youth, and hope for a return to simple, fun games, although it seems unlikely that the battle will be won that easily.
